With as many kids as I have seating is usually an issue when we have guests over. I have a couch, loveseat, and recliner chair in the living room so either my kids need to sit on the floor which they complain about or I need something soft for them to sit on so when Ahh Bean Bags emailed me to do a review of their products I was hopeful that this would solve out seating issues for the Holidays. We were sent a 37 inch cuddle soft bean bag in brown color, to hopefully keep away the stains and match our current furniture, from the pictures on the website I figured it would fit 2 kids comfortably and would be the perfect addition to our family room.
At first the bean bag was great! It fit 2 kids at a time which left plenty of room for guests to come over and hang out. The kids LOVED sitting on the bean bag and my 6 year old would ask every night if I would let him sleep on it instead of his bed. It was definitely their favorite new thing. They loved cuddling up and reading in the bean bag chair.
We’ve had the bean bag for almost 2 months now and I am kind of glad that life got in the way of getting this post up because my opinion has changed. The bean bag now hardly ever gets used, the stuffing has gone almost flat so it’s no longer comfortable for my children to sit on. At a price of $200 (on sale for $192) I would expect it to hold up better than it has in 2 months.
This was taken about a month ago and you can already tell it’s lost it’s fullness. I hosted Thanksgiving dinner and the tweens got all excited that we had a big bean bag chair until they sat in it. My nephew said man it’s like sitting on the floor. On the plus side the fabric has held up really well and since the cover is removable it is super easy to clean, just toss into the washing machine. The bean bag chairs have inner liners that are water-repellent. The chairs have a 10 year warranty and have a 365 day return policy without a stocking fee. This is nice because if you had issues like I’ve had you can return it hassle free.
The owner felt my review was too harsh and asked me to add in this: “ALL bean bags compress with use, it’s unfortunately the nature of the filling. That’s why we, and ONLY we, give our bean bag owners a discount if they ever need to get refill for their bean bags. Again, all bean bags compress in one way or another…whether you spend $20 at Target or $200 at Pottery Barn.”
I still do not feel that after spending around $200 it should have compressed that much in less than 2 months but again this is MY honest opinion.
